For those people who think that Theatre is just for the nerdy kids that, for some crazy reason, love being at school all day, I say think again!
Here are some fun things about theatre that you may not have known.
UNTIL NOW!
Maybe this is too old school for some people,
but I happen to love the game Tetris.
However, not quite as much as these people.

What about this guy? Look familiar?
Most people now know him as Gandalf, from Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit,
or Magneto from X-Men.
But, did you know that in 1991 he was knighted by the Queen for his contributions to the arts?
Or that he could perform Shakespeare like this?
Or look so young for that matter?

he has also been in numerous productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Here is a list of other Theatre Fun Facts from Broadway:
So if you like watching movies,
dressing up,
becoming a wizard,
playing Tetris
becoming famous,
or having fun
THEN THEATRE IS A PLACE FOR YOU!
One thing I've always loved about Great Britain is how they acknowledge and appreciate the arts. I like how Westminster is filled with dead poets and authors, and not just dead scientists and statesmen. I love how good actors are knighted. Personally, I don't think America as a culture honors and values the arts as much as Britain does. For instance, we don't knight poets. And we don't have incredibly popular national monuments to them that are equal in stature to those of war monuments. I may be wrong here, but my trips to London have led to believe that way.
